For daring to challenge the gods, the satyr lord Marsyas was punished severely. His horns were sawn off and his eyes plucked out, among even more gruesome measures. Following these horrendous acts, the remaining satyrs of Mundi Maard swore an oath never to follow the commands of the gods ever again. From then on, flesh ripping and bone shattering revenge was their main purpose in the world.
